2. 3D panel   building system cost analysis

1)EPS raw material cost analysis (for China Market as reference)

The EPS raw material is approx USD1.35/kg.
Provided our EPS core panel density is 15KG/M3, and 3D Panel size is 3m x 1.2m x 0.1m,
then we need EPS 3X1.2X0.1X15 X1.35=USD7.29/PC

2)Galv. Iron wire cost analysis

2mm 3mm galv. Wire, the price is approx USDUSD750-800/T, we caculate on USD800 basis.

3mm wire dia,the length is about 18030m.(1kg=18.03m)
Provided the mesh hole is 50mm, then need the iron wire quantity is  3m x 25pcs and 1.2m x 61pcs, the total is 148.2m.
148.2/18.03=8.2kg /panel
0.8 x 8.2=USD6.56/PC

 3)Total raw material cost
USD7.29+USD6.56=USD13.85/PC
13.85/3.6=USD3.84/M2

3. We should use which tools and machines will be used in 3D panel (tridipanel) building system?
  • Shotcrete  machine
  • Concrete mixer
  • Penumatic fastening tool
  • Bolt cutters
  • U type binding wire (Annealed wire or galvanzied wire?and the wire dia?)
  • Wire loop ties tools
  • Reciprocating saw
  • Screed material
  • Scaffolding
  • Steel Rebar
  • Trowel ,sponge,
  •  “U”shape Mesh  tools
  •
    4. For structural panels, we should use what Tensile Strengh for galvanized wire?

In order to replace concrete beams and column, we should use 125,000 psi wire for 3D structure panels.

For structructal panels, usually use the following size

    1) 2inch core EPS, 2.11mm wire for welded wire mesh, 2.5mm wire for
    inserted (connection )wire
    2) 3inch core EPS, 2.11 mm wire for welded wire mesh, 2.5mm wire for inserted (connection )wire
    3) 4inch core EPS, 2.5mm wire for welded wire mesh, 3.0mm wire for inserted(connction) wire.

With these specifications, and all the wire T.S. must be 125000 psi, beams and column is not needed.

    5. 3D panel building system Installation Process

    - Starter bars are "cast into the slab”

    - Bitumen coating

    - The panels are erected vertical and plumbed and temporary supported by way of bracing. Rebar is set between the mesh and the polystyrene. The arrangement provides easy wall alignment.

    - Connection to starter bar.

    - Fixing of splice meshes. A  string line is usually run to establish each wall line. The first two uncut panels are placed on-line(Forming a corner) and the adjacent panels are clamped together using a pneumatic fastener tool.Handheld tools is indispensable for connecting  pannels to each other rapidly.Fastening systems and manually wire ties may also be used.

    - Door and window openings cut out

Doors and windows openings can be cut both before or after panel erection. In all cases precise measurement and layout is essential. It is important to follow door and window instructions regarding frame tolerances.

We can use a handheld variable speed reciprocating saw with a minimum 8” long metal cutting blade with 20-24 teeth per inch.If electrical power is not available at the job site, panels can be cut using a regular pair of bolt cutters to snip the mesh wires, followed with a hand saw to cut out the polystyrene.
Strips of cover mesh are usually placed diagonally above and below corners and on both sides to prevent corner cracks from developing in the concrete covering.U-shaped mesh is also used to reinforce window openings in same cases.

    -  Temporary bracing of walls

    - Stiffening of walls without 3D slab

    -  Props and beams

    - Shoring

    - Plumbing and fixing on the slab

    - Upper concrete on 3D slab

    - Lattice Girders

    - Additional reinforced beams

    - Prefabricated bottom layer

    - Electrical and water pipes

    - Shotcreting

    6. FAQ for 3D panel installation

Are there different types of core density and steel mesh styles available for the EVG-3D Panel?
The dimensions of the panels are manufactured from a starting width of 1200mm x up to 6000 mm length in 200 increments. Truss wire gauges available are 280mm, 320mm and 355mm. Polystyrene Core are normally 40, 50, 60, 80 and 100 mm thick. Outer Layer Wire Thickness Mesh to Mesh 50mm, 64mm, 76mm, 89mm, 100mm, 127mm.

How is the Tridipanel secured into the slab?
The rebar is embedded within the concrete slab. The panel is placed over the rebar, through the open space between the polystyrene core and the wire mesh. Once set, the rebar is fastened directly to the wire mesh by hand with tie wire. It is critical the rebar be installed in a straight line so the rebar fits easily into the cavity between the polystyrene and the wire mesh. It is important to make sure the rebar is completely exposed so it becomes monolithically enclosed with the shotcrete or cement application. Should the building department or engineer require additional tie downs, the polystyrene core can be removed from the base of the panel. The panel is then set in place over the required tie-down and cemented in place. Another option for placing the rebar in the concrete slab is to drill the concrete slab and pour epoxy in the cavity placing the rebar within its confines. Typically, the spacing of the rebar is (24") on center.

XI.) How is a bond beam made with Tridipanel?
A bond beam is used to create large openings, or to strengthen large areas of ceiling or to help support roof structures. All bond beams created should be pre approved by a certified engineering firm. Removing the polystyrene core and installing rebar creates the bond beam. The best method for removing the polystyrene core is a high-pressure water blaster, it takes only a matter of minutes. For further information please see instruction manual.

XII.) How is the electrical and plumbing installed?
The installation of electrical or plumbing is achieved by removing the polystyrene core to create a cavity that electrical conduit or plumbing piping may be installed into. The polystyrene is approximately ¾" off the wire mesh so that you have a space to install these products. If this opening needs to greater the polystyrene core can be removed with a small keyhole saw or butane torch. The polystyrene will not burn it will shrink or melt leaving a cavity. The electrical or plumbing is then installed into the cavity. For further information please see instruction manual.

XIII.) How are windows and doors installed?
The window and door openings may be cut out with the use of three primary tools, a reciprocating saw, a set of 18" bolt cutters or pneumatic cutter, and a small hand saw to remove the polystyrene. It is recommended that a caulking sealant compatible with the polystyrene core be used to seal the jamb to the polystyrene core. For residential construction, wood jambs of treated material are then fitted into the openings. The windows and/or doors are then fastened to the treated jambs. For commercial use, pre-finished concrete openings are created. The windows and doors are then installed into the openings, as they would be into a typical masonry block structure. For further information please refer to instruction manual.

XIV.) How do you build curved or radius walls with Tridipanel?
You can build curved or radius walls by cutting the eleven gauge wires on one side of the panel. This will allow the panel to bend to the desired shape or radius. It is very important not to cut through the heavier nine-gauge truss wire so that wall strength and integrity remain intact.

How is the shotcrete mix applied to the EVG-3D Panel?

A specialised mix of shotcrete may be applied either by hand or machine on either side of the panel.
The quality of the mix design, concrete slump, retarder factor, waterproofing additives, concrete pump and adequate workmanship are all equally important factors for a smooth shotcrete operation.
There is a great versatility of plaster & stucco finishes available for both the interior and/or exterior walls. Additional product may be applied on top of the finished concrete for presentation purposes.
